The bikes, girls, and the macho men, these are the ingredient that makes a successful bike launch. But then again, Harley Davidson event ain’t no ordinary bike promotion without the colourful mix of individuals; those who came for the bikes, those who came for booze and those who came to flaunt (colours, leathers and their customized bikes)
Harley Davidson Singapore held its all black 2010 launch on 12 Dec 2009 at Alexandra Road. More than 100 staff, hog members and other riders had a day of fun-filled excitement at the dealership. Once again the launch enabled members from different MCs mingle and exchange biking experiences in a relax setting, and is part of Harley Davidson’s drive to promote the HD lifestyle.
Truth be told, the word BLACK was obviously present in every parts of the new Fat Boy Special and Sportster XR1200X.
Boring as it can be for I am no fan of black let alone no chrome accessories, the CVO Fat Bob advances to the top of my wish list. “Young, tough, fast and handsome- a combination that’s hard to beat. The chest thumping CVO 110 cubic inches Screaming Eagle motor and jaw dropping custom styling give this bike a V.I.P. pass to wherever you go!”
Soon after the crowd left the dealership, we were still hungry even after hot wings and dim sum, so we headed out to a nearby coffee shop proper food. If you ain’t after a feast for the eye but purely for taste buds, this coffee shop is da place for a gourmet experience. The menu started off with Chilli sauce and the food was so great that I couldn’t bear to put my chopsticks down, my latest excuse for forgetting to take photos. The claypot pig kidney is definitely worth a mention.
As eager as a newbie rider, we wanted to ride. Next stop was Farm Resort @ Neo Tiew. At first glance, the pub appears to be little more than a small corner pub anywhere. But once inside, you will discover a true chill out spot. Music or karaoke of your choice, parents and kids showed off their talents to the audience.
Finishing the night with the final leg on the CTE was a pleasure, all in the Speedy style. Roads in Singapore are just too short if you ask me. Small and intimate, you will never feel lost in the crowd. What’s your excuse for not riding on the road?
